Keep your hard drive in optimum condition
Keeping your computer in top condition should be high on everyone's list of priorities. There are various ways to achieve this, and one of them is defragging. There's already a tool built into Windows, but some people want a little more control and options and choose to download a separate application.
One such tool is mst Defrag. It’s a simple application that's made even easier to use by the inclusion of a wizard which takes you through the most important set-up steps. When you do this you'll see that it features live monitoring and a start-up defrag option, both of which are handy tools. Obviously mst Defrag also defragments your computer, and features several functions to investigate the drives in question, the fragmentation itself, and the results.
As defraggers go, mst Defrag isn't bad at all. It's easy to install and use, and has some extra features that don't always come as standard. Even so, it's a little lackluster, and really doesn't stand out from the competition. Even though mst Defrag is more than adequate and performs its job perfectly, there's still not much to get excited about.
A solid - if uninspiring - defrag tool.

Lightweight non intrusive little gem.
I have an ageing 7year old laptop running Windows 7. I played with background defragmenttion in all the current defragger like O&O, Perfectdisk, Diskeeper and found them to be CPU intensive. MST the other hand works very light and uses only idle CPU cycles. I barely noticed its operation. In fact I doubted whether it was doing anything but it always kept my hard disks 0% defragmented. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that other apps have, but still love how it runs.
Pros:
Very lightweight - runs like a dream on old pcs.
Background defrag is the best in its class
Set and forget about defragmentation forever
Excellent price/performance ration.
Cons:
Cannot schedule defrag easily. More
